What is CVE-2026-17028?

IBM PowerVM Hypervisor versions FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, FW1060.00 through FW1060.80, and FW950.00 through FW950.H2 are affected by a vulnerability in the partition firmware specifically during the iSCSI SAN network boot process. An unauthenticated attacker on the same network can exploit this vulnerability to interrupt the boot sequence of the affected partition. While other partitions and the overall managed system remain unaffected, this poses significant availability risks for the partitions undergoing iSCSI SAN boot.
