What is CVE-2026-1766?
A vulnerability exists in the GNOME Localsearch MP3 Extractor component, where a heap buffer overflow can be triggered by specially crafted MP3 files with malformed ID3v2.3 COMM tags. This presents the risk of application crashes leading to denial of service and could potentially allow an attacker to access sensitive information stored in the heap memory.
