What is CVE-2026-1767?
A vulnerability exists in the GNOME localsearch MP3 Extractor component, allowing remote attackers to exploit it through specially crafted MP3 files with malformed ID3 tags. This flaw creates an incorrect length calculation while parsing performer tags, potentially leading to a buffer overflow. Such exploitation may result in a crash of the application, causing denial of service, or could even allow unauthorized access to sensitive information.
