Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in FreeIPA Web UI by Red Hat
CVE-2026-18147
8.1HIGH
What is CVE-2026-18147?
A flaw exists in the FreeIPA Web UI that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to exploit a DOM-based Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, particularly on the password reset page. By enticing a victim to engage with a specially crafted link, attackers can conduct actions like executing arbitrary JavaScript code within the context of the victim's authenticated session. This poses a significant risk, especially if it targets an Identity Management (IdM) administrator, potentially granting the attacker extensive control over the system.
