What is CVE-2026-19519?

A flaw exists within Claircore's RPM package scanner that can be exploited by providing specially crafted RPM header data within a container layer. This triggers an unchecked type assertion, causing the scanner to panic and resulting in a crash of the Clair indexer process. As a consequence, the service becomes unavailable, leading to denial of service issues that could impact users relying on this functionality for security scanning and monitoring.
