Denial of Service Vulnerability in libdm Affects Red Hat Products
CVE-2026-19617

5.7MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-19617?

A flaw in the libdm component allows a remote attacker to create a malicious Logical Volume Manager (LVM) metadata configuration with intricate nested structures. This exploitation can trigger uncontrolled recursion within the libdm configuration file parser, leading to stack exhaustion. As a consequence, any LVM command processing the compromised metadata may fail, causing a Denial of Service (DoS) on affected systems, interrupting regular operations and access.
