Unauthorized Access Risk in Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance
CVE-2026-20009
What is CVE-2026-20009?
A vulnerability exists within the proprietary SSH stack of Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance Software. This weakness involves insufficient validation of user input during the SSH authentication phase, allowing an unauthenticated and remote attacker to potentially log in to the device as a specific user. To do so, the attacker must have both a valid username and the corresponding public key, eliminating the need for the private SSH key. Although there is no access to root privileges, this vulnerability poses a significant threat to device integrity and requires immediate attention.
