What is CVE-2026-20166?

In certain versions of Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform, a low-privileged user can exploit an improper access control issue in the Discover Splunk Observability Cloud app. Users without 'admin' or 'power' roles have the potential to obtain the Observability Cloud API access token, compromising the security of sensitive data. Importantly, this vulnerability does not impact earlier versions of Splunk Enterprise prior to 9.4.9 and 9.3.10, as those versions do not include the vulnerable app.
