What is CVE-2026-22045?

A vulnerability in Traefik, an HTTP reverse proxy and load balancer, allows unauthenticated clients to exploit the ACME TLS challenge mechanism. By sending minimal ClientHello requests with acme-tls/1 and then ceasing to respond, an attacker can cause resource exhaustion by tying up Goroutines and file descriptors indefinitely. This can lead to a significant denial of service, affecting the availability of the entry point. The issue has been addressed in Traefik versions 2.11.35 and 3.6.7.
