What is CVE-2026-22601?

In OpenProject versions 16.6.1 and earlier, a registered administrator can exploit a misconfiguration in the sendmail binary path to execute arbitrary commands by sending a test email. This security flaw poses a significant risk, allowing unauthorized actions within the project management system. Users are advised to upgrade to version 16.6.2, where the issue has been resolved.
