What is CVE-2026-2271?

A vulnerability exists in GIMP's Paint Shop Pro (PSP) file parser due to an integer overflow in the read_creator_block() function. Attackers can exploit this flaw by supplying a specially crafted PSP image file. The vulnerability arises when a 32-bit length value from the file is utilized for memory allocation without adequate validation, resulting in a heap overflow and potential out-of-bounds write. This flaw could allow attackers to cause application level denial of service, compromising system stability.
