What is CVE-2026-22853?

The FreeRDP implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol contains a vulnerability in the RDPEAR's NDR array reader. This issue arises due to a lack of bounds checking on the on-wire element count, which allows the potential for writing past the allocated heap buffer. As a result, malicious actors could exploit this vulnerability in ndr_read_uint8Array, leading to possible unauthorized access and data compromise. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.20.1 or later to mitigate this vulnerability.
