Linux Kernel Vulnerability Affecting Signal Context Restoration
CVE-2026-23102
What is CVE-2026-23102?
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel allows for improper restoration of SVE signal context, which may lead to out-of-bounds memory access and unintended task termination. This occurs particularly when certain conditions in the SVE signal context are not adequately validated, resulting in potential reading from invalid memory locations or causing a fatal SIGKILL signal to be sent to the affected task. Modifications in userspace can further exacerbate the issue, although exposure of sensitive data is mitigated by kernel protections.
