What is CVE-2026-23104?

A vulnerability exists in the Ice driver of the Linux kernel that can trigger a call trace during the devlink reload process. When the driver is re-initialized, the internal temperature sensor reading mechanism, introduced in a previous commit, can lead to orphaned sysfs attributes referencing freed memory. This vulnerability manifests when monitoring tools attempt to access these attributes, resulting in a page fault and repeated call traces approximately every ten minutes. The proper mitigation involves repositioning the cleanup function to ensure safe memory management and prevent these faults.
