What is CVE-2026-23108?

A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel related to how USB-in transfers handle URB (USB Request Blocks). When the USB subsystem processes these URBs, it does not correctly maintain their anchored status, leading to memory leaks. The issue arises when the URBs are completed and the USB framework removes their anchoring before the callback function can release them appropriately. This vulnerability could result in excessive memory usage, impacting system performance and stability. To mitigate this risk, a fix has been implemented that ensures URBs remain anchored during their lifecycle.
