Data Integrity Issue in Linux Kernel Impacting FUSE Mappings
CVE-2026-23109
What is CVE-2026-23109?
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel affects data integrity while waiting for writeback of FUSE mappings. Previously, the wait_sb_inodes() function would stall indefinitely if a faulty FUSE server failed to respond to write requests. This update reinstates the prior behavior, allowing the process to skip FUSE inodes, thereby streamlining operations and avoiding prolonged stalling. This change enhances system reliability and prevents regressions caused by non-responsive FUSE servers.
