What is CVE-2026-23227?

A concurrency vulnerability exists in the Exynos Virtual Display driver of the Linux kernel due to inadequate locking mechanisms in memory allocation and deallocation procedures. This flaw can lead to a use-after-free condition, which means that the system might attempt to access memory that is no longer valid, potentially resulting in system instability or exploitation. The vulnerability arises when multiple CPU threads handle memory operations simultaneously without proper synchronization, creating a race condition. Implementing proper lock protection on the relevant member variables within the vidi_context structure can mitigate this issue and enhance the overall security of the driver.
