What is CVE-2026-23379?

A vulnerability within the Linux kernel's networking subsystem impacts the offload path for the Enhanced Transmission Scheduler (ETS). Due to the use of unsigned integers for calculating class WRR weights, an overflow can occur, leading to a division by zero situation. This flaw can result in a critical kernel panic, rendering the system non-operational. To mitigate this issue, developers must modify the computation process to utilize 64-bit integers for summation, effectively preventing the overflow condition.
