What is CVE-2026-23646?

OpenProject, an open-source project management tool, suffers from a session management flaw where users can inadvertently delete other users' active sessions. In versions prior to 16.6.5 and 17.0.1, the application does not adequately verify session ownership during the deletion process. This flaw allows users to manipulate the session IDs and effectively unauthenticate other users, posing potential risks to account integrity. Although no sensitive data such as IP addresses or browser identifiers are compromised, it is important for users to upgrade to versions 16.6.5 or 17.0.1 to mitigate risks associated with this vulnerability.
