What is CVE-2026-23903?

An authentication bypass vulnerability exists in Apache Shiro, where users can access static files by manipulating the case of the filename in requests on case-insensitive filesystems, particularly in default setups like macOS. This flaw impacts versions before 2.0.7, where common filters might be bypassed due to insufficient case handling. To mitigate this issue, users should upgrade to version 2.0.7, which introduces a crucial parameter for addressing this vulnerability, allowing for case-insensitive configurations. The upcoming Shiro 3.0.0 version will make this configuration the default.
