What is CVE-2026-24471?

A vulnerability in the Continuwuity Matrix homeserver allows attackers to exploit user interactions by causing the local server to sign arbitrary events. This occurs when a user attempts to leave, join, or knock on a room. If the victim server requests assistance from a malicious remote server, the attacker can provide a crafted event that the victim server will unwittingly sign and send back to the attacker. This poses significant security risks, particularly for all Conduit-derived servers, where user input can inadvertently compromise server integrity.
