What is CVE-2026-24676?

FreeRDP, an open-source implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol, contains a vulnerability where the AUDIN format renegotiation process improperly frees the active format list while the capture thread continues to utilize the existing format. This leads to a use after free condition in the audio_format_compatible function, posing risks of data corruption or exploitation. The issue has been addressed in version 3.22.0.
