What is CVE-2026-24680?

FreeRDP, a popular implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol, contains a memory management vulnerability due to improper handling of pointer operations in versions prior to 3.22.0. During the execution of sdl_Pointer_New, if an operation fails, the allocated data is freed. Following this, the pointer_free function attempts to free the same data again, leading to a use-after-free (UAF) condition. This flaw can potentially be exploited by an attacker, impacting the stability and security of the system. The issue has been resolved in version 3.22.0.
