What is CVE-2026-24681?

FreeRDP, a popular open-source implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol, was found to have a use after free vulnerability. This issue arises when asynchronous bulk transfer completions attempt to utilize a callback from a freed channel, specifically occurring after the URBDRC channel has been closed. As a result, this flaw can potentially lead to arbitrary code execution or crashes in applications using susceptible versions. The vulnerability has been addressed in version 3.22.0, which contains necessary fixes to strengthen the security of the software.
