What is CVE-2026-25496?

In Craft versions ranging from 4.0.0-RC1 to 4.16.17 and 5.0.0-RC1 to 5.8.21, a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified. This flaw is found in the Number field type settings, where Prefix and Suffix fields are being rendered using the |md|raw Twig filter without adequate escaping. This can allow the execution of malicious scripts when the Number field is displayed on user profiles. The issue has been addressed in subsequent versions 4.16.18 and 5.8.22, which patch the vulnerability.
