What is CVE-2026-25791?

The Sliver command and control framework possesses a vulnerability where its DNS C2 listener accepts unauthenticated TOTP bootstrap messages, creating server-side DNS sessions without verifying OTP values. This issue persists even if the EnforceOTP setting is enabled. Due to the absence of a session cleanup or expiration mechanism, an unauthenticated remote actor can exploit this vulnerability to generate multiple sessions, leading to a potential memory exhaustion condition. This vulnerability has been addressed in version 1.7.0.
