What is CVE-2026-26280?

A critical flaw exists in the Systeminformation library for Node.js, specifically in the wifiNetworks() function. This vulnerability arises from an issue where the iface parameter, which is supposed to be sanitized, is not properly handled during a retry after an empty scan result. Consequently, this allows an attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands through user-controlled input, posing a significant security risk. It is recommended to upgrade to version 5.30.8 or later to mitigate this vulnerability.
