What is CVE-2026-26318?

The systeminformation library for Node.js, which provides essential system and OS information, is susceptible to command injection vulnerabilities. This occurs when unsanitized output from the locate command in the versions() function could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands. This security flaw affects all versions prior to 5.31.0. The issue has been addressed in version 5.31.0 where proper sanitization measures have been implemented to mitigate this risk.
