What is CVE-2026-26933?

The vulnerability in Packetbeat arises from an improper validation of array indices within multiple protocol parser components. An attacker positioned on the same network segment as a Packetbeat deployment can leverage this weakness by sending specially crafted and malformed network packets. This manipulation can lead to out-of-bounds read operations, causing application crashes or resource exhaustion. Effective exploitation can disrupt service availability, making the system vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks.
