What is CVE-2026-27151?

Discourse, an open-source discussion platform, has an authorization vulnerability allowing users to move posts to topics even in categories where they lack necessary posting permissions. Specifically, the move_posts action only accounted for permissions on the original topic without checking the destination topic's policy. This oversight affects TL4 users and category moderators, enabling them to inadvertently move posts into read-only or group-restricted categories. The issue has been addressed in versions 2025.12.2, 2026.1.1, and 2026.2.0, and no known workarounds exist.
