Data Export Vulnerability in Discourse Discussion Platform
CVE-2026-27153
What is CVE-2026-27153?
Discourse, the open-source discussion platform, has a vulnerability that allows moderators to export user private messages via an insecure CSV export endpoint. This is due to an overly permissive allowlist in the can_export_entity? function, which fails to adequately restrict entities that can be exported. The issue affects versions prior to 2025.12.2, 2026.1.1, and 2026.2.0, where it has been patched. Admins are urged to update their installations to safeguard user data against unauthorized access.
