Script Injection Vulnerability in n8n Workflow Automation Platform
CVE-2026-27578
What is CVE-2026-27578?
The script injection vulnerability in the n8n workflow automation platform allows authenticated users with permissions to create or edit workflows to inject arbitrary scripts. This can occur on different nodes, including Form Trigger, Chat Trigger, Send & Wait, Webhook, and Chat nodes. Malicious scripts execute in the browser of any user visiting the affected page, potentially leading to session hijacking and account takeover. This issue has been addressed in n8n versions 2.10.1 and 1.123.21. Users are strongly advised to upgrade their systems promptly. In the interim, workflow creation and editing permissions should be limited to trusted users, and the Webhook node can be temporarily disabled as a precaution. However, these measures are not a complete fix and should only be regarded as short-term solutions.
