Distributed Key-Value Database Vulnerability in Valkey
CVE-2026-27623
What is CVE-2026-27623?
Valkey, a distributed key-value database, has a vulnerability in versions 9.0.0 through 9.0.2 that allows a malicious actor to trigger a denial of service (DoS). This can occur when the system improperly maintains its networking state after handling empty requests, causing it to erroneously interpret subsequent valid requests as threats to internal invariants. As a result, the server may abort its operations. To mitigate this risk, it is advised to update to version 9.0.3 or later and ensure that Valkey installations are securely isolated from untrusted users.
