What is CVE-2026-27637?

FreeScout, a help desk and shared inbox application built on the Laravel framework, has a significant vulnerability where its TokenAuth middleware relies on a static authentication token calculated using predictable inputs. This token does not expire or rotate, making it vulnerable to exploitation. If an attacker acquires the application key (APP_KEY), they can generate a valid token for any user, including administrative accounts, leading to potential account takeover without the need for a password. Both this vulnerability and one related to it were addressed in version 1.8.206 of FreeScout.

Affected Version(s)

freescout < 1.8.206
