What is CVE-2026-27696?

Changedetection.io, an open-source web page change detection tool, is susceptible to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in versions prior to 0.54.1 due to inadequate validation of resolved IP addresses in the URL validation function. This vulnerability allows an authenticated user, or even a user without a password configured, to manipulate the tool to fetch internal network URLs. The application processes these requests server-side and exposes the content through the web interface, potentially leading to significant data exfiltration from internal services. A patch was introduced in version 0.54.1 to rectify this issue.

Affected Version(s)

changedetection.io < 0.54.1
