What is CVE-2026-27878?

A vulnerability exists in Grafana Tempo where an excessive memory allocation occurs due to a large exemplars hint value in a TraceQL query. This can result in an out-of-memory crash, which an authenticated user can exploit to induce a denial of service against the Tempo service.
