What is CVE-2026-27973?

The Audiobookshelf mobile application, a self-hosted server for audiobooks and podcasts, contains a stored XSS vulnerability prior to version 0.12.0-beta. This flaw allows attackers with library modification privileges to inject malicious JavaScript through modified library metadata. As a result, arbitrary code can be executed in the browsers or WebViews of targeted users, which may lead to session hijacking, unauthorized access to sensitive data, and potential exploitation of native device APIs. The issue was rectified in version 0.12.0-beta of the Audiobookshelf app.
