What is CVE-2026-2823?

A command injection vulnerability has been identified in the Comfast CF-E7 device, specifically in version 2.6.0.9. The vulnerability exists within the function sub_41ACCC found in the /cgi-bin/mbox-config?method=SET&section=ntp_timezone component of webmggnt. By manipulating the 'timestr' argument, an attacker can execute arbitrary commands remotely. The exploit details have been made public, providing malicious actors an opportunity to target affected systems. Despite early notifications to the vendor regarding this issue, no response or mitigation actions have been taken.
