Input Validation Flaw in FTP GVfs Backend by Red Hat
CVE-2026-28296
4.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-28296?
A flaw exists in the FTP GVfs backend that allows remote attackers to exploit input validation issues. By providing specially crafted file paths containing carriage return and line feed (CRLF) sequences, an attacker can manipulate the intended FTP command flow. This unsanitized handling of input can result in the termination of legitimate FTP commands and permit the injection of arbitrary FTP commands, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution and further significant impacts.
