What is CVE-2026-28435?

The cpp-httplib library, prior to version 0.35.0, contains a vulnerability in its handling of compressed request bodies. Specifically, when processing requests encoded with gzip or other supported content encodings using HandlerWithContentReader, the library fails to properly enforce the maximum payload limit on the decompressed request body. This oversight allows attackers to deliver small compressed payloads that can expand beyond the configured limit, potentially leading to denial of service through CPU or memory exhaustion. Users are advised to upgrade to version 0.35.0 or later to mitigate this issue.
