Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Frappe Web Application Framework
CVE-2026-28436
What is CVE-2026-28436?
The Frappe Web Application Framework is susceptible to a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability that arises from the improper handling of crafted image URLs. Prior to the release of versions 16.11.0 and 15.102.0, an attacker could exploit this flaw by embedding a malicious image URL in the avatar settings. This malicious content could subsequently be executed in the browsers of users who view comments on the affected website, allowing for unauthorized actions and data exposure. Frappe has released patches to mitigate this risk in the aforementioned versions.
