What is CVE-2026-29049?

The Melange build tool allows the construction of APK packages through declarative pipelines. In versions 0.40.5 and earlier, it exposes a vulnerability related to the update-cache mechanism. This process fails to impose restrictions on URI downloads resulting from build configurations, permitting attackers to craft malicious URIs. Such URIs, when executed, can lead to unlimited disk writes on the build runner, potentially consuming all available disk space. As a result, a successful exploitation can disrupt builds and harm system integrity. Currently, there is no known patch available to mitigate this issue.
