What is CVE-2026-29169?

A vulnerability exists in the mod_dav_lock component of Apache HTTP Server 2.4.66 and prior versions, where a NULL pointer dereference could be triggered by a specially crafted request. This flaw has the potential to crash the affected server, posing a risk to service availability. The mod_dav_lock function is not actively utilized within mod_dav or mod_dav_fs, with its only noted application being in mod_dav_svn from earlier Apache Subversion versions. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to upgrade to Apache HTTP Server version 2.4.66 or remove the mod_dav_lock module altogether.
