What is CVE-2026-29179?

A vulnerability exists in October CMS that allows backend users with certain permissions withheld to perform unauthorized file operations on theme assets and blueprint files. Specifically, users granted editor access without the required sub-permissions for asset and blueprint operations can create, delete, rename, move, or upload files. Additionally, an error in the operator precedence may expose the theme blueprint directory tree under specific conditions. This issue has been addressed in versions 3.7.16 and 4.1.16.
