What is CVE-2026-29795?

The Stellar XDR library contains an input length validation issue where the StringM::from_str method does not enforce maximum length constraints. This allows for the creation of StringM instances that exceed their defined limits, potentially leading to violations of expected behavior in serialization and data validation processes. Developers relying on this functionality are exposed to risks as the invalid instances may propagate through various components of the system. The problem has been addressed in version 25.0.1 with a patch that ensures proper length validation is enforced.
