Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in ImageMagick Software by ImageMagick
CVE-2026-30937
What is CVE-2026-30937?
ImageMagick, a widely-used open-source tool for image manipulation, has a vulnerability due to a 32-bit unsigned integer overflow in its XWD encoder. This flaw can lead to an inadequate heap buffer allocation when processing exceptionally large images, resulting in out-of-bounds writes to the heap. These issues are addressed in later versions 7.1.2-16 and 6.9.13-41, making it essential for users to upgrade to these versions or later to avoid potential exploitation.
