What is CVE-2026-3114?

Mattermost versions, including 11.4.x (up to 11.4.0), 11.3.x (up to 11.3.1), 11.2.x (up to 11.2.3), and 10.11.x (up to 10.11.11), exhibit a vulnerability in the file extraction process. This issue arises from the failure to properly validate decompressed archive entry sizes, which allows authenticated users with file upload privileges to exploit crafted ZIP files known as 'zip bombs'. By sending these specially designed archives, users can trigger a denial of service condition, exhausting server memory resources and impacting service availability. For more details, refer to the official Mattermost security advisory MMA-2026-00598.
