What is CVE-2026-31858?

Craft CMS is vulnerable due to an oversight in the ElementSearchController::actionSearch() endpoint, which lacks the necessary unset() protection implemented in similar controllers. This vulnerability allows authenticated control panel users to perform SQL injection attacks through parameters such as criteria[where] and criteria[orderBy]. As a result, attackers can exploit the vulnerability to extract sensitive database contents using boolean-based blind injection techniques. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to version 5.9.9 or later to resolve this security issue.
