What is CVE-2026-32630?

A memory growth vulnerability exists in the file-type library versions 20.0.0 to 21.3.1. When using the methods fileTypeFromBuffer(), fileTypeFromBlob(), or fileTypeFromFile(), a specially crafted ZIP file may lead to excessive memory consumption. Although stream-based detection enforces an output limit for ZIP inflation, known-size inputs bypass this limitation, allowing arbitrary large payload processing during ZIP format probing. This issue has been addressed in version 21.3.2.

Affected Version(s)

file-type >= 20.0.0, < 21.3.2
