What is CVE-2026-33346?

OpenEMR, a free and open-source electronic health records and medical practice management application, contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in its patient portal payment flow. This flaw allows a malicious user to embed arbitrary JavaScript code within the payment submissions. When a staff member reviews these submissions, the stored script is executed in their browser, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data exposure. The vulnerability existed in versions before 8.0.0.2 and was addressed in this release, which ensures that submitted data is properly sanitized and escapes any harmful code.
